About Weronika
I broke into publishing in 2009, through a high school workshop that placed me with former young adult editor Brian Farrey at Flux (now North Star), a small imprint in Minnesota, where I pulled, from the slush pile, the lovely Out of the Blue by Holly Schindler, which received a starred review in Booklist. I then moved on to intern with Jenny Bent at The Bent Agency.
From 2010-2011, I worked with Bob Diforio and sold an array of projects:
debut Miserere: An Autumn Tale by Teresa Frohock (Night Shade, 2011), which received a starred review in the Library Journal ★, and was its Science Fiction/Fantasy (SF/F) debut of the month;
Hypertension and You by international hypertension expert Samuel Mann, MD (Rowman & Littlefield, 2012);
an anthology of legends from the highway, Trucker Ghost Stories, edited by Annie Wilder (Tor/Macmillan, 2012);
Hugo-nominated debut Three Parts Dead by Max Gladstone (Tor/Macmillan, 2012), which received a starred review in Publishers Weekly ★, and which the Washington Post called "the best kind of urban fantasy," NPR "sharp, original, and passionate," and Patrick Rothfuss, "Stunningly good. Stupefyingly good"; Two Serpents Rise (Tor/Macmillan, 2013), which received a starred review in Publishers Weekly ★; Full Fathom Five (Tor/Macmillan, 2014); and Last First Snow (Tor/Macmillan, 2015), which received a starred review in Publishers Weekly ★, the first four books of Max's Craft Sequence; and
debut Sekret by Lindsay Smith (Roaring Brook Press/Macmillan, 2014), which received a starred review in Publishers Weekly ★.
Following the unexpected death of my mother, I moved for one year to an agency housed in NYC, Lynn C. Franklin Associates, Ltd., before departing the world of publishing altogether to make space for my own grieving. I am back now for the long-haul.

What I Read
I love beautiful writers, worlds, characters; I love smart, quirky and genre-bending stories. Some of my favorite novelists and writers include Edith Pattou, John Green, A.S. King, Laini Taylor, Alison Croggon, Jandy Nelson, Markus Zusak, Anthony Doerr, Flannery O’Connor, Haruki Murakami, Mark Haddon, Khaled Hosseini, Jodi Picoult, Nora Roberts, Graemie Simsion, Rainbow Rowell, Gillian Flynn, J.R.R. Tolkien, Patrick Rothfuss, George R.R. Martin, John Grisham, Sue Johnson, and Brené Brown, among many others. I am very much a reader that likes to be challenged.
I am also someone who loves projects (books and films alike) such as the Oceans trilogy, the Bourne series, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, and Downtown Abbey, among others funny, intense, and able to invest your heart in the lives of its characters.
How I Agent
Where I and my clients agree it is necessary and good, I am a heavily editorial agent, with much experience and background in structural editorial work. Beyond this, I agent very personally: we’re a team, setting you up for a writing career, and so this means close work on the manuscript, on submissions, on marketing, on learning the field and placing you well for growth and success, and on friendship. I am of the mind that, where there is something personally shared, we’ll love and do our mutual work with greater joy and freedom.
