About Michael

Following a career in journalism and public relations, Michael became a literary agent after he joined the Harold Matson Company in 1977. He left Matson in 1983 to start Don Congdon Associates, Inc., with his father, Don, of which he is now President. He has served on the Board of Directors, and as Literary Vice President, of the Association of Author’s Representatives (AAR) and has been a member of the organization’s Ethics, International and Program committees. He has interest in, and represents, commercial and literary fiction, as well as a variety of non-fiction, such as history, military history, biography, current affairs and narrative non-fiction (adventure, medicine, nature and science). While open to receiving new manuscripts by authors who have self-published previous works, he is not interested in signing up works which, themselves, have already been self-published.
